Within our Medical division, we are awarding a Master's thesis on the topic of "Torsional strength of wires made of shape memory alloys"
Problem definition:
Despite the fact that shape memory alloys are well known and widely used in various areas of technology, there is insufficient data available on the torsional strength of these materials. However, knowledge of this property is absolutely essential for the design of the desired application.
This work is intended to provide an overview of the torsional strength of various alloys and to identify potential for optimization.
Contents of the work:
- Preparation of theoretical basics
- Collection of own empirical data
- Correlation or differences between theory and experiments
- Derivation of characteristic data for characterization and FEM
- Derivation of influencing factors and recommendations for improvement
Professional and personal requirements:
- You are studying for a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, physics, materials engineering or similar
- You have very good knowledge of materials technology
- You have good analytical skills and knowledge of statistics
- You have a good command of written and spoken German and English
- You are characterized by a structured, independent and responsible way of working
